Old Age Dementia Old Age, Depression And Recently Started Hallucinating About Once A Week. Is This Dementia?

Old age, depression and recently started hallucinating about once a week. Is this dementia? - old age dementia

My mother fairy falling 3 months ago and had no memory of it. It has all the memories of the past and recent. Even with the recent events and names. In a severe spinal stenosis and was prescribed Vicodin and steroid injections. Since then started to hallucinate. Vicodin first thought was the cause and was completely stopped. He had a steroid shot last week again this week he has hallucinations. Suffering from severe depression. Could it be dementia?

Maybe start with a thorough review of laboratory, electrolytes, etc. If something in this department. the problems that can cause you describe. We also want to see if it (a geriatrician, a doctor, specializing in the treatment of older people in your area). Older people react differently to medications than you or me. I will say that taking steroids without a doubt I would, because I'm not a doctor, but steroids are known to cause some strange side effects in some people "special" and therefore can not be ignored. My father has Alzheimer's moderate, and tend to hallucinate when they are off their medications, but it is moderate Alzheimer's disease, and not what your mother did not. As a last resort, you might consider them to a neurologist for a complete diagnosis, but would be a pretty extreme. Trust your instincts and if you find a doctor you trust your attention to follow his recommendations to. I've learned where my father, the patient and the family trust that is probably theThe best time to consult a doctor. Good luck and God bless. We hope that this is a short-term problem for you and your mother.

That does not look like dementia in general. Dementia is progressive, first to forget the little things that are like car keys, and know themselves, their children. And they usually do not include hallucinations. With his mother and the case of all these problems started after the fall and then started drugs, I would say something about this is the culprit. What is your mother hit her head when she found that any loss of consciousness? There must be more work on top of your physician. This does not seem normal, and should be further investigated. If your doctor will not perform tests to ask others.

NO.

Something is not right.

Or at least, should be excluded. If this was madness, ok ... but I think it's something more.

To explain, if elderly sick .... sometimes represented as an acute confusional states ... strange or unusual behavior.

No luck. She is the mother you'll ever .... it can get the best doctor. You do not regret it forever.

a loan .... There are more important than money. This is one of them.

You wont regret EVER.
